abdominal adhesions.

I have suffered with severe adhesions for 30 odd years now. Some weeks better than others. This is the result of numerous surgeries and infections. Up to now the pain hab stayed in the lower abdomen. Is it possible after all this time for the adhesions to grow up towards the kidney area? the pain is above the waist and feels the same as the abdomen and lower back.

No, I don't have these same issues.  I have a condition called gastroparesis that means I need to be fed through a tube into my small intestine and get medicines through a central line in my chest.

Needing a urostomy bag is pretty rare.  Are you male or female?

By scope I ment laprascope. The dr mentioned that It was impossible to see the intestine thru the mass of adhesions. More than likely I would end up with a urostomy bad and colostomy bag if I ended up in surgery again.
Are you having the same issues?

How did the last attempt fail?  By scope in your abdomen do you mean an upper endoscopy or a lower endoscopy (colonoscopy)?  What do you mean by 2 bags?  Do you mean a colostomy?  What other "bag" do you mean?

Thank You for your response.
I was told by a group of surgeons years ago that they really could't do any more for me. I was to have a port put in my spine for pain management. I declined for fear that I would become addicted.
The last attempt to clear adhesions failed as they closed me up and told me to try and live with it. They said that I was solid mass in there and that if a Dr even attempted to put a scope in my abdomen, they would not be able to see. They said if I had to be opened again, that I would come out with 2 bags! Not good news.I have learned to live with it until this last episode...
i just wonder how or why it keeps growing.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  This could be related to your adhesions, which can go anywhere.  I would recommend talking to your doctor about this.
