I am trying to find a diagnosis for my chronic back pain. I am 39 years old and have been suffering from debilitating back pain since I have been 10-12 years old (hard to remember that long ago). Lately my pain is greatly intensified when eating/swallowing, characterized by a burning sensation on the inside of my spine. All my pain is centered in the thoracic spine between the shoulder blades. I've had countless x-rays, two MRI's, and two bone scans. NO diagnosis is offered. A Rhumetologist says, that I DON'T have A.S. but every other GP and even two chiropractors tell me that I have A.S..
I'm now grasping a straws in order to find any kind of diagnosis for my pain.IS THERE ANY gastroenterological conditions that can cause back pain. I do not have acid reflux or at least any symptoms that point in that direction. ALL my pain is in the spine. Is there connective tissues that hold the esophogus connected to the spine area? If so, can the act of swallowing cause back pain? Is there any esophogeal conditions that can cause back pain?
