flattened stool

starting july of 2009 my daughter has flattened stools sometimes.
she also has a Hx of constipation and she is under the care of a GI specialist.
about a month ago my daughter underwent colonoscopy to rule out colitis and chron b/c there was blood on the toilet paper at least once a month.
colonoscopy did not show anything. dr said everything looked "normal"
but what about the flattened stools...? what can cause this? ( Dr said she has no ideea)
thank you.

Flattened, or ribbon stools, can be caused by spasms of the colon.
