if colonoscopy is neg. ur gonna be OK. There are many possible causes. If you are losing weight and apetite, then you should be more concerned. If colonoscopy is good and pain continues, reply here and I might have some ideas how to eliminate or ease the pain.good luck.
thanx for reply ,i did lose weight and appertite but have put weight back on since xmass .thought it might be ibs tabletts ?cause thats the only diverent thing i am taking .

just waiting for the big day and scared stiff but its need sorting will have to just smile and get on with it.
If than bump in your arm really was a lymphoma, then it is possible you are prone to develop lymphomas on other places - one is SMALL intestine. Contrast x-ray investigation of small intestine or capsule endoscopy may show more.
thanks the lump was a lympoma as i had one took out .have always had lumps and have developed more over the last few years have shown loads of docs and a sergen and i meen loads atleast 10 docs all say thay are fat lumps hope that thay are right???
had a endoscorpy is a capsule endoscopy a different procedure?.
is having the colonoscopy the right way forward?
sorry for so many questions but freaking out.
There are fat lump (lipomas) and tumors of lymphatic nodes (lymphomas). Both of them may appear in the small intestine. This may be seen by capsule endoscopy (you actually swallow a capsule with a camera, which can take images of entire small intestine). Classic upper endoscopy (which you seem to had) is by that tube . endoscope which they put through your nose, into esophagus, stomach and duodenum - so only to the first part of small intestine. This classic endoscopy is not enough for diagnosis of lymphomas.
With colonoscopy only the large intestine - rectum and colon may be checked.
thanks for info
i think that could be next step .
will have to go ahead with the colonoscopy .and se what happens
not looking fowerd to it
no pills can gain or even hold your weight if you got cancer. good luck in colonoscopy and keep us informed.
I haven't answered clearly.
For finding lipomas/lymphomas you need capsule endoscopy or contrast (barium) x-ray investigation of the small intestine, not colonoscopy.
do you think going for colonscopy is the best thing to do?
getting realy bad pains across top of stomac and under ribs both sides.also bloating. stinging burning prickly pains all over stomac and up my back, driving me mad.get the feelings docs dont beleave me .
you seem very knowledgeble ,
dont think there is much i can do but go threw process still waiting for appointment ,if not heard anything in the next few days might ring the hospital and see if they have my reveral.
Hardly answer on this. End decision is yours, but doctor should explain you why he decided for colonoscopy, and what he will look for.
last viset to docs he was in two minds either send me to a gastro specialist or camra
i suggested camera to see whats going on ,and he aggreed.dont think docs have any idea realy.
rang hospital today might have to see a specialist 1st to see if i need to go for colonoscopy.
whats going on doc revers me for procedure then im told this
had a nothe off this its all waiting and waiting
What is your current problem? Pain? Any blood in stool RECENTLY, or diarrhea?
current problems are .
upper stomac pains bloating ,burning stinging sensation wich is also down the sides both sides also getting the burning prickly pains in my ribs and up my back.only thing that helps a little bit is codein which the docs gave me a stronger dose 15mg 500mg
thay seem to help a little not much.
no blood in stools but are soft and loose
thanx for your respons it helps to talk
If you ask me, I would go this way:
1. capsule endoscopy - this is to check your small intestine. Only if this would be negative I would continue with
2. colonoscopy.
But, you can do one investigation at the time - so 1. one first, and wait for results, before any other investigation.
thanx will keep u informed of my progress
thanx for you time
still waiting for appointment if i have to see g i specialest 1st maybe i can suggest it.

Proteins stay in the stomach for a long time, since they are digested there. If you drop all animal food (meat, eggs, milk), your stomach will empty much faster. This may help.
Also avoid fibers (fruits/vegetables) which may yield a lot of gas.
