Pain in right side of stomach under ribs

I have had some pain for nearly two months now.  It's located about 3 inches under my ribs and radiates into my back in the same area and stretches up toward my right shoulder. I am also having a lot of dizzy spells, sometimes several times a day.  You know the kind of dizziness that you get when you stand up too quickly, it's like that, but I think it's happening way too often, and sometimes it happens when I merely standing up.  I have also had a lot of headaches lately, maybe every several days or so, and I normally don't have headaches frequently.  I have medullary sponge kidneys, and thought this started as a kidney stone.  I went to my urologist and he saw a kidney stone on my left side but not my right.  I don't know if I should go back to see him, because now I really don't think it's a kidney stone, when most of my pain is the right side of my stomach a few inches below my ribcage.  I was shocked to read that so many other people are dealing with something so similiar.

Thanks so much....and good luck to you!!  My urologist said that if I do have a kidney stone on the right side, that maybe it's too small for him to see on an xray.  But this really doesn't feel like a kidney stone.  I think when it started about 2 months ago, I thought it was because my stones usually start with that pain in my back.  Have you been dealing with this for a few years now, or did it just recently come back?  I was reading online yesterday and found that a lot of people were experiencing exactly what we are and some of them had dealt with it for years.  But nobody seemed to have a clear answer on what it might be.

I have the same symptoms had a neg ultrasound and just had a CT scan today. So I will see what the results are.  Went through this a few years ago and nothing.  I do have a history of kidney stones and a few years ago when I was going through this I had 4 in each kidney but the dr. felt they were too small to be causing any pain.  Dr. was thinking gallbladder also. Ultrasound was negative though and hida scan was only borderline. I did have a couple episodes of severe pain one with a fever.  Just hope they can find what is causing this because it is annoying.

I wish you luck and hope that you get some answers.  Keep us posted.

But from what I hear, if it is your gall bladder, then you would be in extreme pain.  Sometimes mine is a dull pain, and other times it's quite sharp.  I also get a burning sensation in that same area at times.

That's what my Mom says she thinks it is.....and it's in the same area as your gall bladder.  I have seen my urologist, and I have an appt with him next week to have a ct scan done.  But I'm really wondering if I should go to my regular doctor instead.
