Thank you, I will check that out too. I really appreciate your help! You are also very knowledgable about this subject and I am glad I found this website to comunicate with others. I hope you have a great day!
Also look into the use of VSL#3 probiotics after (and actually before) the fecal transplant. It's an extremely effective form of probiotics with a number of very good clinical studies attesting to it's use.
And look into this: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/777515
Thank you for your support, I just got her approved for another appointment with the infectious disease doctor so I hope we are back on track with her treatment. The antibiotics have not worked and they are expensive. From what I understand, antibiotics can be a cause for this aggresive bacteria. I hope all doctors take a pro-active approach and gain more knowledge about C.Diff. And.....All hospitals should get the necessary certifications to perform the fecal transplant. We have many hospitals nearby but only one of them does the procedure. I am hearing more and more people having this condition lately like it is becoming an epidemic. I went to my doctor to get tested since I have been exposed taking care of Mom but luckily I am good. Whew!! I would not wish this condition on anyone and it is highly contagious if you come in contact with it. Thanks again for your support and advice.
I just wanted to second the motion on getting another fecal transplant, make it happen as soon as possible. The success rates for them regarding C Diff is extraordinary. The US healthcare system is so inhumane. Best to you and your mom.
Thank you for your response. She did the fecal transplant once already but looks like she will have to do it again. The run around between doctors and insurance approval is crazy. Trying to get back in to see the infectious disease doctor again. Someone dropped the ball with the direction for her treatments and it's very frustrating. I will check Medscape.com also. I appreciate your feedback :-)
Try going to www.cdiffsupport.org. They've got most of the latest information on the site. In addition, try going to Medscape.com and querying about fecal transplants for C. diff. For the most resistant forms it seems to be the most reliable form of cure.
