Continuous Rectal Bleeding

Hello,

I have had continuous mild rectal bleeding for six weeks now (maybe more, perhaps just noticed six weeks ago). I have seen a few doctors who say there are no problems on the outside. At three weeks I had a colonoscopy done which removed a 12mm precancerous polyp and noted internal hemorrhoids. Bleeding continued and at four weeks I was advised to go to the ER after my bleeding got worse after drinking alcohol. The ER performed a CT scan and found bleeding in my small bowel which they gave me flagyl and cipro for. They helped the bleeding but it still continues intermittently. I had a follow up with the doctor who told me to use anusol and fiber for the hemorrhoids for four weeks and see if it gets better. Can anyone think of anything else this could be?

I am not aware of anything else that could be the cause, but if it doesn't get better- make sure you go back and keep going back until you have the answers.  Sometimes it takes several visits to the doctor, to get answers- unfortunately.  I hope their solutions do help you though!
