strange bowel movements

Hi,
My bowel movements have changed. Because of a diagnosis of ms, I took an prednisone IV for three days and also an anti-seizure drug depakote. I got taken off the depakote because my liver enzymes were high. I am off both of these now. but i have noticed right after taking these my bowels have changed and still are.  They are light brown in color and very long. They have many food particles in them. they are frequent and bulky. When they are in the toilet, they start disintegrating and crumbling.   My internalist says that no need to concern because no diarrhea or weight loss, but i am concerned because they seem so different than my normal bowel movements from before.  I know sometimes food is in stool, but there is lots of it and it is every time. thank you for your ideas and suggestions.

thank you so so much for your response. your recommendations are great. I am already on a gluten free/dairy free diet and I will follow these other guidlines. I feel it could be related to leaky gut as well since right after the prednisone  my psoriasis flared up like crazy. so i have to heal the leaky gut and that may help all the other matters.

Light color of the stool speaks for "fast bowel transit", during which intestinal bacteria don't have time to change bilirubin into normal dark brown color.

Food particles are from undigested food from the same fast bowel transit.

Maybe there were drugs, or it is ms itself that affects your bowel habit.

Try to avoid foods that stimulate peristalsis:
- fruits and other foods, high in fructose or sorbitol: appleas, pears, prunes, cherries, peaches, dried fruits, honey, "sugar free chewing gum", and "low calorie" foods containing sorbitol, foods with HFCS...
- bulk amounts of high-fibre vegetables like legumes (beans, peas, soy, lentils), cauliflower, cabbage
- fatty foods
- dairy
- certain spices...
- alcohol

Try with bread, rice, cornmeal (polenta), pasta, potatoes, chicken, turkey, spinach, bananas, berries, citruses, water (avoid fruit juices)...usually these foods are not problematic...anyway try to avoid what you can't digest
