too many bm's during night

Had colectomy in April 2008 and reversal of ileostomy in June 2008. Unable to gain any weight back and having too many bm's during night (6-8). Days are pretty good (4-6). Been on every kind of diarrhea medication and am now taking Keflex and Flagyl. Nothing seems to help the nights. Any suggestions?

Bears, look up posts by Morecambe on this board and read them. They'll give you some very sound suggestions for slowing down the bowel movements.

Have you told this to your colon/rectal surgeon?  If not, do so right away.  The only thing i can suggest is adding more fiber to your diet.  Also, for people who do not have colectomy's banana's stop diarrhea.  Good luck!
