Bruised Toe

For about 5 months now my big left toe has been bruised. At first I thought it was my football boots being to tight, and my friend from school said that happened to him and it fell of quickly, whilst this isnt the case for me. I cannot ever remember someone standing on my foot or a anything to cause this bruising. I have informed my parents about this many times, who have said it is just a bruise or fungus. After it now being a long time since I have said I want to get it checked out after I come back from holiday on the 27th July. I wish I hadn't waited this long to get it sorted, as now I am anxious about waiting a week to get it sorted, and hopefully not getting any bad news. This all came to light about 2 months ago when my school had a cancer talk in assembly, and one of the simptons was unexpevtedbruise , being only 14 this isa n incredibly scary subject and I hope to god that it is not the worst, I would be extremely grateful for any feedback or help you could advise  me, thanks
Tom

I have had cancer 2Xs in my life, and am now a cancer survivor.  I do know the signs and symptoms of cancer.  You do not have it.  There are cases in which bruising can occur, but it is all over your body, and definitely not on your big toe.
Bruising on your big toe can happen for many different reasons, and not hurt.
As a 14 year old young man, you could have gotten by fooling around with your friends and not realizing it happened.  A tight shoe can also cause it.  I have bumped my foot before, and the bruise has lasted for several months.
The color of your bruise is from blood vessels being banged, and it takes awhile to heal.
I have a son a few years older then you, and he has done the same thing
many times.   Try walking barefoot or flip flops to give it air to breathe

Is the toe nail black? The whole toe nail black or just a line of black going down the nail? Or, is the toe itself black or black and blue? If the toe itself and the toe nail is bruised black and blue you could still have a break and should have  doctor look at it. If it is just the nail and not the toe itself if the whole toe nail or most of it is black it will fall off eventually and grow back. If there is a single line going down the nail ( a narrow black line) then you need to see a doctor that could be skin cancer.  It sounds to me like you kick something and either bruised the bone or broke the toe. Most of the time they heal on their own but if it is in a odd angle or important spot then it may not be healing so you would have to have them set it.

I cannot tell if it is a bruised toe nail or toe, but its not painful and i t hasn't fallen off for about 5 months, this is where I worry that it hasn't taken off. If a mole is what I think it looks like then it definatly isn't a mole

Is a bruised toe nail or toe? if Toe nail it was injured and it will probably fall off and grow back. If bruised toe it may be fractured or broken. Is the skin broken or is the toe off at an angle? Is it painful? It does sound like a break or at least bruised bone. You should have the family doctor look at it to see if they can wrap it up. Since you have had it for a while then it may need to be splinted.
