Exposure to Mold

I was working on a house yesterday that had a TON of mold. Today my right lung area is sore and I feel like I can't get a good breath.  Is there any thing I can do to help me feel better? Also I have a cough

Hello all,
I read these posts and felt the need to clairify a few things....Ubiguitous, yea okay, it is everywhere and can grow with nothing but the right temp and water...it is located everywhere in different forms as well as different quanities.....There are days when mold spores are heavy enough in the general air that the weather speaks of it as tho they were speaking of humidity or rain as well as the pollen counts........Now as far as the cleaning of the mold......mkh9 mentioned the bleach and tilex....Not only is the smelling of such chemicals, possiable injury to the lungs and body functions....USING THEM TOGETHER IS A   NO..NO..NO..NO.....The mixture of such chemicals can create DEATH....NEVER MIX THEM under ANY circumstance!!!!!  And it is not just those chemicals either,,,,,Many other seemlingly non-hazardous things---become hazardous and TOXIC when mixed....How about trying a NATURAL KILLER OF MOLD!!!!! Most people do not even know of this, and yes it is a strange one....There are 2 things that kill mold, period......And BLEACH is not one of them! It changes the color...
Vinegar is the mold killer...If you see "A PATCH" of mold and take vinegar and either spray it on or dump it on....YOU can watch the mold MOVE and contort and release spores as it is being killed....It is the acidity that kills the mold, so that it does not continue to grow and create the spores that are put into the air that we then breath into our lungs, where they can start growing again due to the warmth and moisture and then things metabolize and circulate through the blood and finally to the muscles and tissues and organs, which creates them to go on their fight or flight mode of fixing something, that if still exposed, is un fixable.....I was exposed to black, white and who knows what color of green that was, but ALL  mold is toxic....just in different levels...some kill in months and others in years....The second thing that kills it is something called 4242 and right now the only place to get it is in North Carolina...This product is more for industrial use as it comes in 50 gal. barrels and looks like rust colored paint and it is mainly used after a fire where much water is used to put it out...Mold takes 24 hours to start to grow and release its spores...so if a week went past after the fire and now the rebuilding starts...everything burnt needs taken out of course, but what about the beams that were not burnt, just wet and mold has started....4242 kills the mold and as long as the water source is contained it prevents further growth....
I told my drs several times of the mold and they did not even bat an eye about it....I know these things due to research galore and experience.....I will keep a watch on this site for things such as this and if anyone needs more info on chemicals and the effect and affect that happens as a result of an exposure,....just write it here or visit me backstage...I hope you all have a wonderful Blessed day!!!      GOD BLESS!!!!      loimmmarmar

Well, generally speaking mold is ubiquitous in the environment. But when you get exposed to a high dose and close up then it is possible you breathed it into your lungs. Usually, we fight this off. Could you be having breathing problems due to using a lot of chemicals to kill the fungus ? That will also make you cough. The types of mold that grow on showers etc. are usually fast growing so it is possible to have symptoms that quickly. You should visit a doctor and have them listen to your lungs, just to be safe. I did the same thing and put so much tilex on the wall that the Tilex sloughed off part of my lungs superficially. I was hacking for a few days but it wasn't the mold it was the bleach and Tilex as it is strong stuff. So, it is up to you to decide whether it is due to chemicals or check it out to be safe at your GP.
take care,

my advice would be to get to a doctor and better explain the mold if possible, things like the color and what texture it looked like will help determine if it was dangerous. ive been exposed to black mold myself and can say that its nothing to mess with or let go, if it looked black with spec-like fuzziness call someone immediately.

Hello,
Welcome and man am I ever GLAD you wrote now, and did not wait and continue to go to that house......DO NOT GO TO THAT HOUSE AGAIN...FACE MASK OR NOT!!!    I just moved from almost 6 years of it and was almost dead....It is a fungus and the first place besides the sinuses is the vocalcords and lungs, to the blood and all around the body....The GOOD news for you is that it was 1 day...it will seem as tho you have the flu or a cold type sinus and lung thing....now if you cough up any blood...go to er as that could mean pneomonia...I would definately increase fluids somewhat to help flush any out...if your mouth becomes raw inside go to your pp and talk about this as well as something called canadidisis(oral thrush)...I have found that these two things usually go hand in hand...If you really need to go into that place.....HAZMAT SUIT!!   Not that you are allergic to it.....no,    but because of other health issues you might be more sensitive to it as it does cause auto immune in my case, TO GO WACKO!!!  Or the exposure was greater than suggested by places such as epa and osha....Right now for me....ANY...is way to much!!
For the breathing...try to blow out as long as possiable...keep going....OKAY, now breath in through your nose  v  e  r  y    s  l   o  w.....NOT DEEP.....now,  blow out slow, for longer this time than last time....then in through nose,,,now you should have control and oxygen in the blood,...you are exercising the lungs and that will help them clean themselves which they do do......make sure you cough and spit (in a tissue), not swallow as that is not good for your gut either....If you feel worse I would go to er, but I do know that it can cause breathing problems and for awhile I had to sleep sitting up....I hope you feel better ,Please Let us know how you fair from this!!  Have a blessed day!!!   GOD BLESS!!!!    loimmarmar
