High Pulse Rate with Normal BP

Should I be concerned with a high pulse rate of 114? I checked my bp and its within normal limits but my pulse is fast and I feel like I am burning up. I have also had a bad headache all day.

Normal heart beat is 60-100 beats per minute.

Yours is slightly elevated.  This can happen if you have been rushing around or get excited, because your heart is pumping to get the oxygen round your body.

As you have a headache and feel like burning up, plus the fact your heart rates is higher than normal, your body may have a bacterial or viral infection.

Take pain relief medication to lower your temperature and ease your headache.  Monitor your condition and make an appointment with your doctor should there be no improvement.

I have had a rapid heartbeat since I was in my 30's & until my blood pressure went up there was nothing they could do for me.  I was diagnosed with high BP several years ago and was given Toprol 50 ml xl and my heartbeat went down.  But my rapid heart beat was there for years.  If you have a sudden rapid heartbeat  you should get evaluated by your doctor especially since your also getting a headache too.  Keep us updated after you see your doctor.  Julie

yes i would go to you doctor now. a normal pulse rate is 72BPM. you are very high and that can be an early warning sign for a heart attack. be safe go get it checked out. you are feeling hot because of your heart pumping that much blood and oxygen around your body. the BP throws me off but i would go see a doc just in case. i hope every thing is ok, not trying to scare you . good luck
