Pain in the lower right side to the left of my hip

I went to the Er almost a week ago because I had been having pain in the lower right side just to the left of my hip bone for a few days. At first this pain was only when I touched the area but by the Sunday I went into the ER it became constant, worse, and I starting throwing up. I wasn't really running much of a fever. We all thought it was my appendix and they ran a cat scan to see if I was going to go in for surgery.

After house of test they came to me and said when they tested my urine it showed a small amount of infection and the lymph nodes around my appendix were swollen and pushing on my appendix and that was why I was in so much pain. So they gave me some pain killers sent me on my way and told me to follow up with another physician within a week.

Still being in pain (it was still a constant pain even through the pain killers) I set my appointment for Friday 5 days after I had been to the ER. When I went in they said that after they had reviewed the cat scan further the lymph nodes around my appendix were not as swollen as they thought but it did look like there was fluid in my liver. So then they ran more blood work and urine tests on me. They call me Friday night and said everything came back normal. So it's normal to have pain that has been there for over a week? I don't think so :( Needless to say they said if it isn't better by next week to come in again and they would run more tests.

Has anyone had similar problems to this and might know what it is? I have been on thyroid medication for about a year and a half and they just tested my blood here 3 months ago to make sure everything was still good with it and it was. I take the yaz birth control and haven't had problems with that. I have never drank or smoked and have never had any other medical problems but am tired of getting the run around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would also try a chiropractor, if all else fails and you are still hurting, maybe this will be the solution. If a vertebrae is out of alignment in the lower back region, a person can have all kinds of trouble and pain. I know way back in the late 80's, I had tummy aches, felt like I was coming down with the flu, and could hardly walk due to pain, well, I saw my chiro, and he took some x-rays and it turned out to be my 5th lumbar, he worked on it and I got better. To this day, when I am needing an adjustment, whether it be my neck, back, ribs, etc, I go see my chiro and he usually fixes me up. It can be amazing what they can do.

No, it sure is NOT normal. I would get a second or third opinion, anymore, doctors rush so much, it is a wonder they can do anything, keep asking, you will get to the bottom of this.
