If the doctor you saw was not a cardiologist, I would certainly see one and have some other tests, an EKG is OK, but, it certainly can not tell the entire story, and from what I have read here, I am still not convinced that what you are experiencing is not heart related. Ask for an echocardiogram, and if that does not show something and you are still having problems, maybe even an angiogram. It is better to be safe than sorry.
Hi there
Thanks for the responses. I went to a different Dr. today and he did an EKG. He said it was normal but my heart rate was high (120) He said that when he listened to it it was high but went down when I lay down.
He gave me a blood pressure machine to take home and wants me to take it ever day for 2 weeks and come back and see him in a month.
I also have some other "symptoms" that I am not sure if they are related. I have used the same deoderant for 8 years and never had an issue but in the last 2 months I have noticed a significant change in body odor. I even have to change my shirt in the middle of the day (I know, its gross)
Also, today I have had upper back pain. Mostly on the left side. I sneezed earlier and had a sharp pain in my upper back on both sides near the spine. Could be totally unrelated but I am just throwing it out there.
Just getting frustrated since I now have to wait another month.
I think I may stop taking the pill too just to see if there is any change.
Thanks again. I really appreciate it
Thanks for explaining what you meant :)
"Rule out a heart problem" MEANS make sure it is NOT a heart problem. It does NOT mean don't get it checked.
Please do not rule out heart problems. If my brother would have gone to the hospital instead of taking heartburm medication, he would be alive today. Heart problems often feel like heart burn. Your symptoms seem very typical of a blocked artery.
I don't think this is "simple heartburn." I would recommend ruling out a thyroid issue and Celiac's disease. The reason why I say this is because your white count, bp and cholesterol are elevated.
I would rule out a heart problem as well as an above poster has mentioned.
my doctor put me on a pill called nexium for heart burn it helps me alot
If I were you I would get an EKG on your heart, to me it sounds like you have blockage. I had a brother who died last year, well they found him dead in the bathroom where he must have died 5-6 days prior. His Blood pressure was probably high and he too had been taking heartburn medication. Meanwhile go to the store and get some baby asprine- take at night time, then seek a doctor that will check on you. If you need to go to the emergeny room and complain about chest pain ( sorry, I don't usually suggest this route, but it might offer you the questes results).
