Unexplained Vaginal Bleeding

When I quit nursing my third child my period returned 3 months later and last 6 weeks.  That next year my periods remained 3-6 weeks in length Eventually, my periods evened out with a 28 day cycle but continued to last 2-3 weeks EVERY cycle.  Since this all began, I have been to three different gynecologists and they have all ran the same tests and all have said their is no explained reason why I am bleeding, it's just bad luck/bad periods.  I had the cervical ablation done in October of 2008 and I still continued to bleed for weeks at a time.  They are now down to 7-10 days with every 28 day cycle, however I will bleed for a few days off and on throughout the month.  Also, since weaning my youngest from nursing, I have bled frequently during sex.  I'm at a loss and very frustrated.  I truly feel something is wrong and it's not being found but am not sure where/who to turn to.  I'm 29 years old and young for a hysterectomy but am wondering is this going to become necessary.  Please help!

Hello~First off, please do not even consider a hysterectomy especially at your age. If this doctor is not helping you, then I would see another one.
I would also try taking "natural" bio-identical Progesterone Cream. This is Progesterone that is identical to what you body makes. I use it. It is great for not only peri-menopausal women, but, for every woman that needs hormonal balance. It is great for regulating abnormal periods and PMS and a host of other things. I use a great organic one called "Serene Oasis" it is wonderful. I would also like to recommend a great book by Dr Lee, the leader in hormonal disorders, don't let the title frighten you, it is for all ages. Here is the title: What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Peri-menopause" As I said, it is great reading for ALL ages.
Give this book, and cream a try, and by all means, as I said, if your current gyn is not helping then seek another opinion.
Hope this helps, please keep us posted.
