anyone know what this is?

Yesterday (2-28-12) I was outside in my back yard and suddenly felt a stinging or pinching sensation on my left calf. It wasn't that bad and by the time I was done outside, I'd forgotten about it. Today when I was changing clothes I saw this bite or whatever it is in that same spot. I've had a lot of bites in my 40 years and I have NEVER seen this one before. It has 7 little spots to it and to me it looks like it has the imprint of a mouth and fangs or something similar. It doesn't hurt and doesn't itch at all. The pic is apparently as good as I can get it. I've taken 4 or 5 pics and all of them sort of turn out a little blurry but this one hopefully shows enough detail. I'll try another pic outside in daylight tomorrow. Maybe that won't be blurry. If it's a good one then I'll upload it too. Anyway, does anyone have a clue what this is? If so, please let me know. Thanks.

I would definitely show that to a doctor.  It does look like a series of bits.  Given that there aremsome nasty insect borne diseases out there, it would be a good idea to have it looked at.

Hi  I was wondering if you had any symptoms other than the bite itself. Do you feel nauseated or sick in any way? There is a dermatology site here and usually there are doctors but they take a couple of days to answer sometimes. It is great photo but I can't help either. If you feel sick or it blisters I would head for your doctor. Bring the photo in case it change.

Is that a quarter that you have on your arm? I know your using it to show the size of the bite (or whatever it is) It does look like a single bite. Now that I look at it a little closer it actually looks like a bunch of seperate bites. When you find out what it is, please write back and let me know. I am really curious as to what it is. Try not to worry about until you do find out the cause. Good luck and sorry I wasn;t any help.....J
