gallbladder infection site

I am three weeks post-op laparoscopic gallbladder removal and my bra is rubbing against one of the incision sites making red, swollen and sore. Should I still be concerned about it getting infected or has enough time passed where I don't need to worry about the sites getting infected

I was told that using Alcohol and Peroxide are not a good idea, it get moisture into the incision and can cause an infection. Stressed1976,when I had my gallbladder surgery it took over a month and a half to not hurt a lot.

I have had this same problem (two of the incisions became infected with pus as well).  This happened two weeks post op.  I was given oral sulfur antibiotic as I am allergic to penicillin.  Took 10 days and somewhat healed.
Still very sore on all incisions and right side where gall bladder was.  How long should I expect to be so sore?  I have to put bandages over incisions just to wear my panties when I go to church, etc.. otherwise at home I just wear my gown and robe so as to let incisions get air and hopefully heal.  Should I do anything more?

I had this happen where 1 of my incisions looked as though, well it actually was a little infected, probably the same incision site as you are referring. Mine actually had small amount of pus oozing as well. My recheck was a week or so after noticing a irritation, So around 4 to 4 & half wks Post.  The Surgeon said it was probably the suture trying to work itself out. I had already started using Alcohol, Peroxide, Neosporin, and recovering with a bandage. It is similar if you've ever had a ingrown hair, course if the area starts to change to a darker blue or black, Get somewhere where they can inject you with an antibiotic. It should be getting better just before your 6wk follow up if you give it some care as I did.  Hope for a fast recovery for you.
