general health

I have itch all over my body.  I've been to 3 dermatologists but none can find a cure or even medication to stop the itch.  I've taken all of the allergy tests, had skin biopsies and used some kind of box that radiates my whole body.  The only relief has ben cortisone shots but all doctors limit its use.  Currently my primary physician hs me on 12 mg's cyproheptad but that only prevents extreme itch.  Sleep is impossible.  But does get 3-4 hours from complete exhaustion.

If not caused by allergies, all over itching can be caused by a neurological issue. Sometimes, kidney, liver, or hormone issues can also cause itching. Some basic blood tests can show metabolic and hormone levels. If they all look normal, then perhaps the next step is a visit to a neurologist.  I hope you get relief soon!
