Were my stitches taken out too early?

I had a deep jagged laceration in the webbing between my index and middle finger of my dominant (right) hand, requiring 5 stitches. I was told to come back and get them removed in 12 days. 12 days pass and I go back today to get them out. The doctor says nothing (no aftercare instructions or anything), just says "it looks great" and sends me out. The cut is still open as though it hasn't closed. It isn't bleeding or oozing, and it definitely isn't infected, but the two "lips" are still open and you can see down into the cut. I'm not sure what to do because I'm leaving the country to go to the UK for a week first thing tomorrow and I'm not sure I'll be able to afford health services in the UK (I'm not a UK citizen). I could probably get an early appointment, but I'm not sure I can afford the copay (already shelled out one copay today...)

I'm not even sure they could restitch it because a) the surrounding tissue is pretty thick and scabby from the healing and b) it might just separate again because I do use this hand a lot even when I try not to.

I tried to take some pics, not sure how well they turned out. (They are not too graphic or anything.) Let me know if you need a different angle. https://imgur.com/a/YDvbJ8V
