blood and cut on hand

Hi everyone. Was at store other day shopping and had a very recent cut on hand and didn't think much of it until I picked up a car cup holder and noticed what looked like wet blood on it. The blood had touch cut and if it was blood that had hiv in it would that be a risk of hiv infection to me? Cut was recent and blood was still wet looking is why Im sooo concerned. Does this warrant any testing?

Move on, you have already been given your assessment. You didn't have an exposure.

Don't want to carry on with this, but I usually assume worst case scenario. Is your answer of "NO" based on that also?  Sorry to bother again

I work at auto place where co workers cut hands and bleed often. Other day at work I suffered pretty good cut on my knuckle which bled. If throughout the day another workers blood came on contact with my cut would this be a risk? There are high risk people that I work with which is why I'm asking.    Thanks again

bottom line is...

once exposed to air, hiv becomes INACTIVE and UNABLE to infect

If you had a cut on your hand it did not pose a risk for transmission. The HIV virus only attaches to certain cells and these cells are not found in small finger cuts. Also if the blood was on the cup holder it would have been inactive and unable to infect due to being outside the host.

You were NEVER at risk of HIV infection from what you describe above.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone else have second opinion?  was under the impression that if blood comes in contact with cut that it would be possible risk. The blood on cup holder looked new is why I'm worried is all.

No. Transmission of HIV through open wounds must require serious medical attention / stitches. simple cuts dont transmit HIV virus.
