* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Sadly alot of doctors don't know much about HIV, especially when it comes to window periods.Any HIV specialist will tell you that a negative test result at 3 months is final and conclusive.

i totally believe Rain , but why this Doctor told so,?
Does it mean that visiting a HIV site (MEDHELP) is better than visiting a doctor ?
why they are not reading the new updates , he is Philippine BTW

@ majoridiot  , they all the same man ...

A test at 6 Months is not required because it's the old HIV window period used back in 2003.The testing is better now and more sensitive.Your results are final and conclusive, you don't have HIV.

Thank You So Much Rain,
my doctor just told me that i have to come after another month to just confirm it at all , i asked him is it possible i still not in the seroconversion stage, he told me YES.... :(
he told me just come after one month ( so total is 6 months)
i just read here in some replies that ( HIV AG\AB ) is not that good after the 3 months period , i read also that i SHOULD USE ELISA after the first three months, on the other hand (ag\AB) have AB so it suppose to be the same ...?
that's why i got confused , sorry for making long slow story .

The doctor should have told you that the result was 100% conclusive at 5 Months. You don't have HIV.The DUO test is fine anytime after 3 Months because the antibody part of the test will detect antibodies.

Dear Teak , i know you might not answer my questions , but i want just to know
last Monday i went to take a DUO test ( ag \ ab ) hiv test , after 5 months of the exposure,
the result come back negative , the doctor told me that i'm a 99% HIV-
but i read that i should take the ELISA test after this amount of months ( 5 Or so ) is this is correct , i don't have here ELISA test , all i have is AG \ AB test , is it not good test , ahll i go to another country to take the test ? is it really that the AG \ AB test is not good after 3 months"on the other hand it have AB also like the ELISA " ?

You don't find out your status based on other people's test.  YOU need to be tested if you had a risk.

If you haven't had unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse since September (3 mos. back from December test) or shared IV drug needles, yeah, you're good. Time to move on...
