The only way you could have gotten infected is via the sex with your ex GF, and the chances are slim to none.
Also, you haven't had your "thrush" officially diagnosed, and even if you DO have it, it doesn't mean a thing. Thrush is not HIV specific...and it's relatively common. The most common cause is antibiotics, but it can be caused by other things as well.
Go take your test, I'm sure you will be fine.
I'm about to get tested in one hour I'm panicking
Wow! Then why do I have thrush? That's weird! But if she was poz, that would mean I would have given her hiv! It's mostly the fact that she tested negative that helps with the fact that I am surely negative too right?
Yep. Even if she was poz; chances are absurdly low, practically zero
So, would you say that the chance is almost inexistant? Taking to account that my ex was negative?
yeah, i was ******** myself. i'll never forget waiting to see the doc in the clinic. he walking past me as i was sitting in the waiting room, for the follow up results but he didn't catch my eye. i thought i was screwed then. i hugged the guy after. stress is a really big factor...it does interfere with immune function in a big way. T-cells are inhibited by your stress hormones somehow.
anyway, your oral sex will almost certainly not lead to hiv. really really low chance. lottery odds i'm talking here.
Wow, you must have been very very worried!
I am losing my mind though, this is a very very scary situation. My life would be over if I had HIV and I guess you know that i will stress over this issue over and over until I have confirmation I don't have HIV.
dry mouth from stress. dry eyes too. and fungal infection of the skin on my shins and forearms, and weird headaches, and a red throat for months (i still have it now!). gastric problems. weight loss. throbbing lymph nodes. shivers. other stuff too probably. nightmare...negative though...conclusively. symptoms mean jack.
I just came back from the drugstore and the pharmacist gave me something for thrush, he says it looks like it. But he also said thrush could be caused by stress. When I asked him about HIV he said I needed to get tested but that thrush usually appears late in infection and not 1 year or 2.
I'm still scared. I'm starting to panic.
who says it is thrush? it might just be white tongue from having a dry mouth which is a stress related issue. symptoms are hugely unreliable as hiv indicators - anyone that has been through this will tell you the same (i have).
I think I can trust her, what could caus ethe thrush then?
if she was telling the truth, i see no way of you becoming hiv positive from the sexual encounters you describe. i suppose you could test for peace of mind, which will surely be negative. i'm glad you are proactive about hiv. chances you are hiv free - very high chance , in fact, and your symptoms are most likely due to stress, alcohol or something else entirely.
