Hello everyone!
I´m a male, 35 years old and I live in Mexico city.
I, like everyone else in this forum, we´re very concerne of our health. Sorry for my bad english and Plese, let me tell my story:
One of the last days of 2021, I had sexual intercourse whith a female sex worker. Unfortunately, at some moment, I don´t understand why, the condom broke.
Since that day, it begin my torment, agony that continues until today.
After a month this terrible moment, I went to testing me of HIV (4th generation Electrochemiluminescence Combo HIV 1-2/ p24) and I got a negative result.
Three weeks later, moving for my conscience, I consulted a specialist doctor (infectologist) and told me, after analise my case and did some stadistics that
would have been very difficult to got infected, I mean, I talking about the probabilities to win the lottery! He tried to calm me and told me that I need to get back to my normal
life (including have protected sex if I wanted it), but, sincerely, I won´t, because I don´t think that´s a good idea expose somebody else to danger.
Besides, the doctor asked me to do other tests: hepatitis B and C and treponema pallidum, all of which were negative.
However, what scares me the most is having been infected with HIV!
So here I am reading through medical forums and websites trying to read and learn as much as I can about the subject. In some pages I have read comments from doctors who affirm that the diagnosis can be definitive after 3 or 6 months.
Others affirm that a negative result in 28 day (with a 4th generation COMBO test)is deemed conclusive. I don't know if I'm safe at this point, or if on the contrary, I'm still in danger.
My doctor prescribed new tests that I have to do at the end of May ´22, I´m scare, I´m freaking out!
I hope you can help this scared man. Thanks!
Regards
