An Organ Transplant who wishes to have hiv test

Hello i am 18 (M) who had unprotected sex with another male who is also 18. I had organ transmission 6 years ago and since the pills i used had side effects i had lymphoma afterwards. Now i use certican 0.75 (2x2 a day) and deltacortril 0.25 (1 time a day)

Its been 2 months since i entered that relationship. So will my pills and situation interfere in test results? If they so; what is alternative testing methods? I am kinda ashamed to ask my doctor because i live in very conservative country although i know my doctor will be good with me i dont want this to be big deal, i will ask him anyways but i want to ask your opinion first.

You can test any time after 6 weeks with a third generation of HIV test for a conclusive. Or a IV Gen can be used for a shorter window period - 28 days.

Only an HIV antibody test is approved for primary diagnostics and can provide you with specific result.

Thank you Mike. my last question is will my health condition extend window period and make my body produce antibodies slower?
No. You don't have to abide by a longer window period. I have already listed above the timeframe for you to test post exposure. I would be only concerned if you were currently on chemo now for treatment of lymphoma.

No. Your pills can't interfere with your body's capability to produce antibodies to HIV infection, if you were actually infected.

If you were to be immunodeficient or immunocompromised you would have been spending a lot of time in and out of ER. Practically, no medicine except ARV drugs can interfere with an HIV antibody test.

Hello Mike.
So what you saying is should i get normal 3rd gen HIV ELISA test and get results or since my body is very fragile if i had infection i would already be in need of medical help so test isnt that necessary?

Should i get tested now?
Ohh also i went for my routine blood and urianalysis test today and it was all healthy, do i still need to worry?
