Worried

I had a sexual encounter in Uganda, East Africa 2 weeks ago, the condom ripped whilst penertrating the vagina, I am now suffering from Flu like symptoms, and pain in the glands, I also have a white tongue and dry mouth.

I am currently taking Doxycycline for malaria treatment and on feeeling worse for wear I upped the dose considerably and took 600mg in a 22 hr period. After the 600mg were taken my face went numb and I found it hard to swallow, followed by the white tongue.

I will carry out a HIV test after the 6 wks period, however could you give me an idea as to whether the symptoms sound high risk or if they could be associated with the drug

For a conclusive test it's 3 months. Most people that are infected will test positive by 6-8 weeks.

See your doctor,

But on the side, doxicyclene has a lot of negative side effects and if the medication is old it can become toxic.

Neuropathy is one of the side effects that doxi has. I can not take doxi due to the effects it has on me.

But backing up to your situation...  sex in Africa!  Wow

"the condom ripped whilst penetrating the vagina"

I asked because I wanted clarification on that statement. Listen to Teak, approach your doctor in regards to your recent symptoms.
