No such thing as a slightly reactive ELISA. Seek professional mental help.

Sory do I sound ridiculous on this? This is a real life case not a "what if".. my elisa report stated "weakly reactive" and wb came back indeterminant. When i went for another quicktest the doctor said that there was a visible line except thinner line & not the usual thickness.. So he considered positive anyway and sent for wb again which came back indeterminate as well.. question is my wb should be negative if there is no risk isn't it? So my concerns are valid and it also help people to understand such situation that blood contact may be a risk.. as stated in CDC Safe Practice..
look andy,
you must move on.
Yes, may be has a risk, but if i understand correctly it was 4 years ago. So even if you the most extraordinary case your test will be positive. About WB in every guidelines the recomondations for reporting results are the same. WB may be positive or negative. So if your WB is not positive they ;ust report you a negative hiv test. The only case when labo may report indeterminate is on ELISA (because the test is take in the seroconversion period, or another illness like flu) and even then after a two to three weeks, ELISA will be clear.
In your case 4 yrs - your WB wasn`t positive , so you are NEGATIVE!!!
Enjoy your live! MOVE ON!
Hey thks for our input on this matter.. the thing I am worried is that that guy has been having paid sex in Africa continent UNPROTECTED! So I wished he is not infected by some strain of rare HIV such as Gp O which I understand elisa will not pick up well.. How about wb on gp O? Can they pick up?
Todate my elisa and quicktest is still hving a visible line which indicate there is somthing causing it to be reactive!! My Wb still indeterminate... Gosh!! this is really torturing can u imagine hving to go thru this kind of anxiety not jus for 3 mths window period but 4 YEARS!!
What is the best thing to do now? Thanks
For the last time..
