Confused about seroconversion and HIV PCR test

Hi,

I had an exposure on the 22nd of October 2013. I did a HIV RNA PCR 15 days after this exposure. IT came back negative. I tested again with a HIV Duo 4th generation (including p24) five weeks after exposure which came back negative as well. On week seven after exposure I had nearly all symptoms of an ARS.

I tried to read myself through the HIV window period in terms of diagnostic. The HIV PCR looks for virus dna which can be detectable quite early after exposure. But if the replication start for example at week 6 - is it possible that it will show a negative result although i am infected but haven't seroconverted yet?

SAme with the Duo test after five weeks. I have read that it looks for p24 which is five days before seroconverting detectable. If I started to seroconvert in week 7 same like the HIV PCR? It will show negative although I am infected?

Or did I get anything wrong? I am stll suffering from muscle and joint pain which didn'T dissapeared after this flu-thing on week7. Btw. I had a high risk exposure.

Would appreciate any help. Thank you!
