Unsure

Last year I made bad choice to messed around with a sexually active girl....we had unprotected oral sex but anal and vaginal protected...after our last encounter I freaked out and did a whole std test including HIV at 10 week mark....although i didnt wait the full 12 weeks inwas told that the test was good to move on....now after almost a year...my wife has to get a hiv test because she is pregnant....now im Freaking out that the test I did at 10 weeks wasn't a good thing and can be positive now !  Should I just move n and think Im ok or should I re test ?

PLEASE HELP!!!

You never had a risk in the first place and your negative test proves it

Thanks for the response, sorry i meant to say that i read online that it can take up to a year for a HIV infection and i did not understand why but i see its for ppl with messed up immune systems...and as far as unprotected ORAL SEX as part of infection still possible?? or nothing to worry about?

Yes, your ten week test was conclusive, and the test you took after that was more than conclusive enough to prove you did not have HIV.

You have read on MedHelp it could take up to a year? Please show me where.

The official window period has been 3 months since 2004.  Actually, an overwhelming majority will test positive by 6 weeks.  Those with previously compromised and damaged immune systems (you would know if you were one of these people) may take a little while longer and that is it.

Thank you, i have a few other ? please,

as you can see i have 2 encounters posted on this page, And since you seem to be very knowledgeable and studying this type of virus,

would you say a 10 week HIV 1/2 EIA test good as conclusive ? did i need to re-test for this encounter (story on top) again at 6 months?

this is for the new post !

i tested again last week which puts me over a year ago from this situation....my anxiety started to build up because i read on here that it can take up to 1 year?  why is that?

Thanks James

Nothing you mention is a risk for infection.  Plus, you have tested conclusively negative.  HIV is not a concern of yours.

BUMP!!!

Hi, I do not want to get banned for excessive posting, so im using a previous post of mine if thats ok.

i need some suggestion on my test from a sex worker where it was protected oral (but before she put the condom she sucked on my penis for a few seconds) and protected vaginal sex.....as far as i could remember the condom was in tact and never broke....the status of the sex worker is unknown....this happened last year jan-feb of 2014 and tested in aug-october time which was 7-8 months after and the test sais - HIV 1/2 EIA - Negative for HIV1 (groups M and O) and HIV2 antibodies - should i be confident that i did not get HIV from this encounter? i started to think about it and went to re-test last week because my anxiety started to kick in again from thinking about it.

Thanks.
