Fingering + Menstrual Blood + Dermatophagia

Hi,

So I was fingering this girl I met at a club yesterday for 2-3 minutes. I then proceeded to put on a condom and enter her for less than 10 seconds when I noticed blood on the condom. I immediately stopped, removed the condom and washed my hands thoroughly with soap and water.

I've read several posts about how risk is minimal / zero for fingering, but would the case be different here, given the fact that I have a habit of biting my nails AND the skin around it. I did not have any open wounds or scabs on my fingers, but I do have raw skin that you get after you've chewed off a layer from the tips of your finger.

Could someone please evaluate my potential exposure here for HIV and Hep C? Any help is really appreciated. I can't wait for March 20, 2015 to get tested.

Hi, anyone else have any additional insight or opinion? Just trying to gauge my risk level for HIV and HCV. For some reason, it seems Deerhound deleted his/her posts.

Thanks for the help folks. Very much needed.

Gotcha, thanks. Does it make a difference if she didn't have any tattoos and was 29 years old. Reason I'm mentioning this is because I've read HCV is much more prevalent in people who were born in 50s, 60s, 70s etc. And among people who got a tattoo at a shady place.

Just trying to assess my odds here and if testing is warranted for either HCV or HIV.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks, does the Hep C risk exist because of my compromised skin around the fingers? I mean would it be a concern if my skin was totally intact?

Thanks,

Hi, does any other member have any additional feedback on this. Just the blood + me biting skin around fingers makes me more nervous about my case that a standard fingering scenario.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much for the swift reply. Just a couple of follow up questions if you had time.

a) Is testing warranted in such a case?

b) Please don't consider this as challenging your post, but would it be possible for your to share your credentials for HIV related posts, even if anonymously?

"I've read several posts about how risk is minimal / zero for fingering" - Actually, it's ZERO. HIV is not spread by fingering. And, the penetration was condom protected, so that too was NO risk. HIV is not transmitted through superficial cuts on the skin. Further, the odds that your partner is HIV+, which would be required if you truly were exposed to HIV, were exceedingly rare. In respect to any HepC risk. This is an HIV forum, I would post that in the STD forum. However, I would say the risk is similar to the HIV risk, NO risk.

Sorry, forgot to add that I noticed blood on my fingers when I went to wash my hands. That's my primary cause of concern.

Thanks so much.
