in limbo

Dear doc i recently went for a routine check up i have had two sexual partners in two years and did not think i was at risk, everything came back clear except for my hiv test three parts were negative and one positive, i had to go back for a second test, the health advisor told me not to worry and this sometimes happens, she said they were not telling me i was hiv positive as they needed all parts of the test to be positive but routine they have to do another, ive been really worried and do not know what to think please help

There isn't 3 parts to an HIV test. Come back after you receive your conclusive test result.

Yes i know and understand that, but i don't quite understand why three parts of the test they showed me were negative is this likely to be a false positive result

You can obtain your conclusive test result 3 months post exposure.
