Hi bucket9,

Your risk depends on whether you have shared your needles while you were an IV drug user, if you did not share your needles, then you don't have a risk.

You can just go ahead and look for a clinic which offers you the 20min rapid test and you can get back the results in 20mins. It's fast and you won't have to suffer an additional 2 weeks of anxiety just to wait for the results.

God bless you.

It's best to be tested.  Certainly you can not know for sure because what you are having may be a number of things, many of which are not very serious.  But testing would be a smart idea.

The only way to know your status is to have an HIV test.

If you were/are an IV Drug user, YES, you should be tested (in the case that you are needle sharing) if sharing needles with other persons whose HIV status is positive or unknown.  If you ceased using IV drugs 2 years ago, you can assuredly get tested now for an accurate HIV test result.
