Genitals Coming in contact with HIV+ semen

I recently had sex with an individual with whom I am not aware of his sexual status. We had PROTECTED sex but when he was about to ejaculate he pulled out and took the condom off and ejaculated on my genitals ( outside anus and vagina) I then ran to the shower and washed myself. 1 week later  I started getting severe lower back pain and headaches. I went to the gyno which tested me for Std's because I had an abnormal discharge and it turns out that he gave me chlamydia. Does this mean that I am at high rish of being infected with HIV if it was so easy to get infected with chalmydia even though the semen was outside my genitals?? Is chlamydia easier to acquire than HIV??  I am worried sick that he might be HIV positive, what is the risk of me contracting HIV?? I cant wait 3 months. I dont know what to do.. I am suffering from depression just thinking I got infected with HIV. Please help

Thank you so much for your quick response,

Another thing that has me worried is that what if i had small fissures on my genitals from the encounter (rough sex, not enough lube, dry) Is it still likely that my risk is low? or does it change anything since the semen came in contact with minor cuts?

Hi Sofia.

Chlamydia is a very much easier to catch than HIV, they are like chalk and cheese.

HIV is spread through penetration and the virus has to be spread within the body, as soon as infected fluid meets the air, the virus becomes inactive, be it blood or semen etc.

Ii is always great practice to get tested for HIV if you are sexually active, a 4 week 4th Generation Duo test will be conclusive, I would suggest that you do this to put your mind at rest but I guarantee you it will come back Negative, you have had an almost no risk situation.

I am certain you will be okay, remember, he most probably did I not have HIV and even if he did, it's a very hard virus to transmit.

Best Wishes

James
