Ok.
Thanks all for your help! I'm sorry if I sounded painfully stupid and/or ignorant to you guys.
You cannot get HIV in this manner, period, end of story.
Wait, so the guy's blood, once it comes out of his body, doesn't provide any sort of "protection" for HIV?
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child
Hi Teak,
I see that you've had a lot of experience when it comes to HIV/AIDS... but can you please explain/elaborate a little more?
You don't think the guy's blood could have entered my body/skin when he talked? I was fairly close to him but not *touching* him or anything. (Also, there was a small cut on my face from acne- plus I probably could have inhaled or swallowed it)
Or does HIV die/lose infectiousness very quickly? Would it matter that I was kinda close to him?
Thanks again!
