HIV 4th gen test after 10 weeks

Hey everybody,
About 3 months ago I had sexual intercourse with a "risky" guy. We had unprotected anal sex but no ejaculation inside, unprotected oral.
I took a 4th gen HIV Ag-Ab test after 10 weeks of exposure. It came back negative. Is it possible that I am still positive and that test was false negative?
I am super worried and scared!
Please answer!
Nick ;-)

Your exposure was a risk. Good job getting tested with a 4th Gen. You did the right thing. However, you seriously need to wear a condom! I don't know why you would not do that! It's like asking to get infected. Just buy some condoms. It's not worth not using one. Always use one.

Most all experts say a 4th Gen at 28 days or more is conclusive. In your case, at 10 weeks you most likely would have detectable antibodies. The test would have been positive for antibodies and if not, then antigens as the antibodies are what clear the antigens from the circulatory system. But most all, like over 90% I believe, would have detectable antibodies by 4 weeks. And 10 weeks is even better. Many say that a 10 week is pretty much conclusive and will not change at 12 weeks. So congratulations. Always wear a condom. If you wan't your 3 month conclusive result then get tested at 90 days. Once you do and I'm confident it will be negative you can forget about the whole thing and relax. But seriously, use a condom.
