HIV 4th generation test 34 days

I am male, live in Brazil and unfortunately did the worst mistake of my life, went to a massage parlor and penetrated (vaginal) a girl (csw) without a condom for about 30 to 40 seconds.
With 30 days took a rapid test 3rd generation in a public std center and came back negative.
With 34 days went to a lab and took a Roche 4th generation antibody and antigen which came back negative.
Can I move on or should I really have another test?
Thanks!

In the US, the 4th generation DUO test at 28 days post exposure is standard and considered conclusive. Many people take a repeat test at 6 weeks if THEY need peace of mind, but we've not seen ANY test revert to negative during that 2 week period. You are correct about the testing period for the UK and Germany and you have now told us it is the same for Brazil.  (The CDC has always been and probably always will be conservative)

As you see, testing again at 8 weeks was unnecessary as the results had not changed as you were already told they were conclusive at 4 weeks. BUT...……...if that is what you needed to do for peace of mind, I'm glad you did and can NOW move on. I'm sure the lesson you learned will stick with you as I'm sure you never want to go through this again. I wish you the best.

Thanks Ruby, wish you all the best too.

Just for curiosity, what are the North American specialists considering conclusive in US ? A lab duo test after 4-6 weeks or still an antibody test at 12 weeks (CDC), or it depends on the specialist guidance ?  I guess in UK they rely on the duo test after 4 weeks and Germany 6 weeks, if I am not wrong.  In Brazil, it seems public health rely on the window period of 30 days.

Best regards,
Andy

Since you went to a lab and had a Roche 4th generation antibody and antigen blood drawn test at least 28 days post exposure, your results are conclusively NEGATIVE and you do NOT need to test again. Play safe out there, OK?

Ok, I will. Thanks!
Hi Ruby, although I rely on your comments and I thank you for that =) I decided to repeat today (56 days or 8 weeks post exposure) the same Roche 4th generation test and it came back negative. I am now in peace and will sleep well, as I did not in the past weeks. I will never repeat the stupid mistake that did. Thanks again!

You took a 4th generation DUO test at 34 days post exposure and the result was CONCLUSIVELY NEGATIVE. You can move on. (Hopefully with a condom in your pocket!)

Thanks Ruby, I learned a lesson from it. Since I did not consult any doctor, from your answer I guess I do not need to test anymore.
