When HIV is transmitted via syringe/needle the infected fluids NEVER are exposed to the air. They go from vein to syringe. The infected material is then stored INSIDE the air tight syringe until it is INJECTED into a uninfected person for transmission to take place.

Teak, thanks for the reply but we know that hiv can be transmitted through sharing needles and that is outside the human body.

So the other persons blood touching my open wound would have not infected me if he was HIV+ because? I read that Hiv can live outside the body for a few minutes
You never had an exposure and don't need testing.
since the accident I have been experiencing severe nausea and headaches which i believe are a cause of the injury.
