It's not theoretical. Plus there are no tests approved to give a conclusive negitive test result earlier than 3 months.
with only a few cases ever reported...
WRONG. It isn't theoretical.
There are no medications or illnesses that delay HIV test results. Even these that you mentioned (transplants, immunosuppressive drugs etc..) are mostly theoretical. You should do as it is recommended from our members and then continue with your life and leave this behind.
Thank you for answering, last question do you think that because I took plan B would have an effect on my HIV test? I heard only like transplants and heavy meds can affect HIV testing, meaning it will cause you to test positive later
Never. ARS symptoms appear 2 to 4 weeks after infection and last anywhere between 4 days and 2 weeks.
So are my symptoms due to something else? Because I just started waking up with a sore throat and a cough but It all gets better through out the day, do usually HIV symptoms appear like 4 months after infection?
If your 100% confident that he didn,t put himself at risk between june 19th and july 21st and have sex with someone other then you then there is no need to test.He gave you chlamydia,he must have aquired that from someone.Look, this is a trust issue here,if you trust him don't test,if you don't trust him then test. That simple.
But it was with the same person for all the exposure, i mean I didn't cathch gonorrhea so what's the difference in testing again if its the same person?
You had unprotected sex with him on the 21st july,so you need to test 3 months from that date for your result to be conclusive. The window period starts again from your last unprotected exposure.Be brave and take one last test and then use protection in future.
But can I just count on my HIV results from June? I mean I only tested once for HIV which is sept 7th, if he had HIV wouldn't it have shown in my results if your counting from june? I'm just terrified to go in again, thank you for being patient with me.
Your right, they haven,t but if you want to follow CDC and FDA guidelines you need to test at 3 Months for a 100% conclusive result.3 months from July 21st is around the 20th oct so a test now is conclusive, take the test and make it official.
Thank you for your response but why do all HIV specialist say that they have never seen a 6 week HIV test turn positive? Wouldn't that be my case counting from July?
An Hiv test taken now will be 100% conclusive. That nurse gave you the wrong information because the 21st july to 7th sept is not 3 Months and was not conclusive. The chances that you have contracted the virus are low given that you said you know the guy and that past test results were negative, however for your peace of mind you require one last test. All the best.
