HIV scare please help

Hi Doctors,I really need help, i have been driving my self crazy hoping you guys can help. I had unprotected sex couple of times with the same person it happened on June 19th and 26th, I also had unprotected sex with him around July 21st ,I know this guy for a long time so I know he does not sleep around with eveyone, all this happened in Europe, so when I got back to the sates I decited to get tested for all the STD such as, chlamadiya, syphillis, HIV, gonorrhea. All came negative except chlamydia and I got it treated right away. I was tested on September 7th. My really big concern is that I might have HIV since I was not tested exactly at the 3 month window period. If you count my first unprotected sex exposure which was on June 19 to the time I got tested is around 11weeks, my second exposure with the same person was june 26th to the time I got tested is around 10 weeks and if you count my third unprotected exposure still with the same person from July 21st to the time I got tested for HIV on sept 7th would be around 6 weeks. I had the rapid finger prick test, do I need any more testing since It was all with one guy? I have not
had any symptoms no fever or rash, the only thing I have is liike a week ago I have been waking up with a sore
throat but it gets better through out the day and this is over 5 months from my possible exposures. I also took 3 plan
b to prevent pregnancy even though he  did NOT finish inside me, would that affect my HIV testing? A nurse told me
that it would not and that I dont need any more HIV testing because weather you count from June or July it would of
been enough time for it to show up on September 7th. Please help me I am loosing so much sleep over this and can
not calm down.
Thank you

It's not theoretical. Plus there are no tests approved to give a conclusive negitive test result earlier than 3 months.

WRONG. It isn't theoretical.

There are no medications or illnesses that delay HIV test results. Even these that you mentioned (transplants, immunosuppressive drugs etc..) are mostly theoretical. You should do as it is recommended from our members and then continue with your life and leave this behind.

Thank you for answering, last question do you think that because I took plan B would have an effect on my HIV test? I heard only like transplants and heavy meds can affect HIV testing, meaning it will cause you to test positive later

Never. ARS symptoms appear 2 to 4 weeks after infection and last anywhere between 4 days and 2 weeks.

So are my symptoms due to something else? Because I just started waking up with a sore throat and a cough but It all gets better through out the day, do usually HIV symptoms appear like 4 months after infection?

If your 100% confident that he didn,t put himself at risk between june 19th and july 21st and have sex with someone other then you then there is no need to test.He gave you chlamydia,he must have aquired that from someone.Look, this is a trust issue here,if you trust him don't test,if you don't trust him then test. That simple.

But it was with the same person for all the exposure, i mean I didn't cathch gonorrhea so what's the difference in testing again if its the same person?

You had unprotected sex with him on the 21st july,so you need to test 3 months from that date for your result to be conclusive. The window period starts again from your last unprotected exposure.Be brave and take one last test and then use protection in future.

But can I just count on my HIV results from June? I mean I only tested once for HIV which is sept 7th, if he had HIV wouldn't it have shown in my results if your counting from june? I'm just terrified to go in again, thank you for being patient with me.

Your right, they haven,t but if you want to follow CDC and FDA guidelines you need to test at 3 Months for a 100% conclusive result.3 months from July 21st is around the 20th oct so a test now is conclusive, take the test and make it official.

Thank you for your response but why do all HIV specialist say that they have never seen a 6 week HIV test turn positive? Wouldn't that be my case counting from July?

An Hiv test taken now will be 100% conclusive. That nurse gave you the wrong information because the 21st july to 7th sept is not 3 Months and was not conclusive. The chances that you have contracted the virus are low given that you said you know the guy and that past test results were negative, however for your peace of mind you require one last test. All the best.
