HIV Clinic. Worried.

I go to get tested at HIV clinic in Thailand. It's the place for hiv patient to get medicines, and I sit beside a man who is hiv positive and he coughs & sneezes many times. I don't know his saliva or blood or something goes into my eyes or lips. Can it be infectious this way through the air? Besides, I touch the same door-knob with other patients many times. I've got little wound on my hand, is it okay? I know it's infectious through sex and iv drug, but I don't know it is risk or not in this situation. I'm among and near all that are positive hiv.

This may sound paranoid, but I'm very worried. Help please.

Thank you. I'll try to learn and understand hiv more than this. Your journal "HIV THE FACT" is very useful. I think I'm too worried that I'm infected by being near them. Anyway, thank ! : )

Yes.  Unless you're having sex with an infected person, or sharing needles with them, you can NOT get infected, not by being around them, having casual contact, sharing items, coming in contact with items they have used, etc etc.

Is it okay to be among hiv positive people without having sex or sharing iv drug? I fear of being infected.  Touch the same things that hiv people touch is not risk? even it's blood on it and there's a wound on my hand.
How's about bathroom and toilet? I use the same as the hiv positive people. Is it okay? Thank : )

HIV is not transmitted like a cold or the flu.  You cannot get HIV in the manner you describe.  You certainly do NOT need testing!
