Question On Transmission

Hi Doctor, I read a lot of post's, and what not. Just A question, what is the % of transmitting HIV through a used razor blade that has dry blood on it for around 3-5 minutes in the outside atmosphere and then being reused on another person and that person being cut all over with blood exposed from cuts. Sorry for my ignorance and appreciation in advance.

Your signs and symptoms are unrelated to HIV. Plus you didn't have a risk.

Hi, and greatly appreciate your input. Only asked due to some occurrences after. They were between a 2-4 week time frame but didnt all happen at the same time, which were a rash that resembled musquito bites,on arms, hands, face and neck. Some time itchy, some would then have a tiny hard dot at the end which lasted about a week. Then somewhat of a fever a week later, with diahreah and fatigue which lasted a day, then some muscle and joint pain a few days after then the rash came back again after that. Sorry for my ignorance, and appreciation to all people who help others.

Thanks for that information. I'm sorry, thought I was able to ask the doctor some questions. I understand the virus dies once outside the body, but if the dried blood becomes "moist" or of that nature, is it able to revive I guess and enter when hitting new blood on a cut. Thanks for your input, appreciation in advance.

Hi,

This is not a Dr's forum.

However, just FYI.. HIV is a fragile virus and dies quickly when exposed to air. If the blood has dried, then the possibility of HIV virus survival is "0".

No worries.. Stay well
