HIV risk?

Hi,
Couple of days ago I had sex with another man. Following a massage he gave me, he eased his self into me for less than 5 seconds before I ask him to wear a condom which he did.
He said after he always plays safe, and got carried away.
He is mid-20, white and at University - we both live in England.
We had sex 3 months ago, which was a condom all the time.
I have asked if he has any STD, he said he didn’t. But I am concerned over STD and HIV.
What are the chances I have caught something?
He does not take drugs - as far as I know.

Another important way to stay positive is do not google for symptoms because they cannot prove anything and will just increase anxiety the more you search and find no useful answers.

So, he inserted unprotected for a brief few seconds?  Unfortunately that is a risk.  Please remember that it is a very low risk at less than 2 percent even if the person had HIV and it is 0% if they didn't have hiv.  But you will need to test.  At 28 days, take a 4h generation Duo test.  I would not be worried in your situation though.  It will very likely be negative.

Thanks for your response.
Why is it only 2% even if he was HIV positive?
You have to wait 3.5 more weeks and there is nothing you can do to influence your status, so I would focus on his claim that he is always safe because you do not want to waste any energy on negative thoughts and what-if scenarios.
Because it is not a guarantee that it would transfer from that single episode.  You don't automatically get HIV just because you have sex with someone who is HIV+.  It just puts you at risk to do so.  But from one episode, the statistic is that it actually happens less than 2 percent of the time.  Obviously, if the guy doesn't have HIV, then it would be 0%.
Thanks for the answers.
Do you think I should take PEP today?
Pep only works if taken within 72 hours and normally is only given if someone is suspected to have HIV confirmation that you had sex with.  It's got a ton of side effects and not something you just want to take unless absolutely necessary.  Focus on the low risk.  Stay busy for the 28 days until you can get an accurate 4th generation test and try not to worry.  LOW risk from a single exposure.  Go on about your life expecting a negative test at 28 days, it will likely be just that.

If he always plays safe and wears a condom for anal then he is safe. Since he did not play safe with you, you should test with a duo after 4 weeks because that will give a conclusive result. You run a risk for Covid too, so should take precautions when around others for a few weeks.
