HIV transmisson from a bloody fist fight

Ok so a week ago i was in a bar. Had a little too much too drink and ended up in a fist fight. I am concerned of contracting HIV since there was some blood involved. First off the guy was a total stranger. Here is how it went down. The guy shoved me a couple times after the third shove we kind of locked up. In the scramble i pulled the guys earring out(the gauge kind) the dude rared back and punched me between the eyes. My glasses put a nice gash in my forehead that later needed stitches. It was so crazy and alcohol was involved so i don't remember a whole lot else. About the time i hit the floor my buddy was dragging me out of the bar and away from danger, he was a BIG dude. Should i get tested. The fight was very quick but there is a possibility maybe that some of his blood could have got into my gash above my eye.

After about 10 days after the fight i started to get an itchy throat that lasted for a couple of days with achy joints. The sore throat was accompanied by drainage in the back of my throat and i was coughing up some dark yellow/green phlegm. At 15 days post possible exposure i am still experiencing some drainage and general achiness. No fever to speak of but now i am really freaking out over this. I can't sleep, i am constantly thinking about it. I told my wife who is a RN and she thinks i am silly, but i fear i might spread something to her. I have only had sex with her two times since the fight and one time was protected. She insisted to not worry about protection because she is not worried. My baby girl had similar symptoms two weeks prior to my possible exposure. I just feel the timing, close to the two week period is really making me paranoid. I don't know how i can make it two more weeks to get tested. This is consuming my life!

I have read a couple of cases that were linked to fist fights as a cause for transmission....yes only a couple. Seems like so far on this site the consensus is no, but other sites seem to say it is a possibility. I am married and i am concerned about passing something onto my wife so i think i will have a test at 1 month. I just don't see how there is no risk when there is fresh blood involved. Thanks
