Possible HIV exposure, please help.

Greetings to you all.
I would like to start by saying how impressed I am with this forum. Just reading some of the stories and the replies given, make me feel slightly better about my situation.

I currently live in Shanghai and a few days ago I dod something rather silly. I had agreed to meet this lady on the internet, and to cut this part of the story short, we ended up having unprotected vaginal sex. I had every intention at the time to use a condom, but I have to say that we got slightly carried away. The deed included a very short oral, given to her, and the deed as a whole did not last long, a few minutes max, followed by a shower.
The same day I started to feel a slight pain in my left ear, and rather weak and sleepy. Now, two days on, my symtoms include; a painful left ear, a slightly sore, moist thoat, weak muscles and tiredness. I have been researching the possible exposure to HIV, and I understand the risks of contacting HIV, but, upon finding this forum, I was hoping to ask someone here for some advice, reasurance, or just some clarification. I will be going for a test when I hit the 6 week mark, and I have not consulted a doctor yet as my current symptoms are not too bad.

On another note, and sorry to make my post longer. This experience, this stupid experience has definately openned my eyes. In fact I can go as far as to say that I have been put off sex altogether, the risks involved and unbelieveable.

Thank you for any relies.

These new (and the old) questions go out to anyone qualified to answer them. Please, I am quite worried about this, obviously, and do not wish to take up much of your time.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Thanks for the quick reply, and I have also noticed a few typing mistakes in my post, for that I am sorry.
Can I ask, how, during vaginal sex, does HIV actually transfer from a woman to a man? I have done some research, but nothing I have found so far has details on this. I understand that the virus can actually have trouble transfering over, so that raises the question, is there a time limit on it?

Also, is the chance of contracting HIV reduced at all if a man is circumsised?

I am sorry for all the questions, but I just want to learn as much as I can, from the mouths of people like you. I am quite worried about possible exposure, but taking all the evidence so far into account, I am hoping that the chance of actual exposure is minimal.

One final question. Can an ear infection of any kind be symptom related to HIV?

Thank you for the information and your time.

Jonathan.

You were not at risk of contracting HIV from going down on a woman. It's possible to contract other oral STDs.
