Had High Risk Sex

I have read a lot of post that pertain to the same situation as I have encounterd.  I had protected sex with a prositute (as far as I know).   Most of the replys indicate that there is no risk envolved pertaining to HIV.  Should PEP be used as a precausion?

Thank you!

No it is not productive or recomended when no risk was involved. The only reason that there is so much optimism is because hardly anyone comes to this forum that has had a risk. Have you ever looked at the side effects of taking HIV medications? HIV meds are not like taking an asprin.

that's because most of the posters didnt have a risk!  if someone has a risk...we most definitely advise them of this and the testing guidelines.

PEP as a precaution is not productive or recomended?  I am curious as it seems that this site is one of optimism where no one is really at risk.  Or that is what it seems in the reponces.

You didn't have a risk and no PEP should not be used as a precaution.
