You had a risk...risk is risk and cannot differentiate its high or low...
Those who who had unprotected sex need to take conclusive test at 3 months post exposure. ..
Have duo/ combo at end of week 4 relax and have one at 12 weeks.
Have in mind next time to use that Rubber..
Remember Unprotected sex enjoyment is for 5 minutes. ..but HIV is forever..
Sometimes is a little bit dificult to find the COMBO/DUO test (they are the same), they are avaliable only through clinics.
go and have a duo test at 4 weeks if you can't wait 3 months and it was not really high risk anyway
Thank you for your rapid reply John.
Is the Combo test the same as the DUO? Where can I find those tests; are they available only through clinics, or can I purchase one at a pharmacy?
Thank you again for your assurances! Take care.
Im not a doctor, so i can't give this advice to you to take, or not take PEP. If you feel more confortable, you can go to a doctor and speak with him, my guess is that the doctor will not recommend PEP. Your risk is very low, and be circumcused reduce your minimal risk... . What you could do now is call the woman to go test with you, it wiil be good for you and for her. If you can't do this, you should do a test at six weeks, and a last test at three month. The result of the six week test will not change, believe it. If you are very concerned you could have a COMBO test at four weeks and an ordinary antibody test at three months. Again, the 4 weeks COMoI test will not change at three months, believe it. I am sure you are ok, and that you are well and do not get HIV from this encounter. I would like to sugest you to make a test for hepatitis and syphilis also. These tests will be conclusive at 3 months also. From today, use condoms in all your sexual relations! Be safe, Be happy!
