risk question and symptoms

I am a bisexual male.  I always use protection with anal but had a lax encounter about 5 weeks ago.  I had unprotected vaginal sex with a female friend but of unknown status.  A week later I begin to experience muscle aches along with lightheadedness and fatigue.  That lasted for 3 weeks.  Now I am dealing with an upset stomach that has severely limited my appetite.  In no time have I suffered from a fever sore throat vomiting or diarrhea.  I have been to my PCP twice in this time and he has noticed no swollen lymph nodes.  I also have had some random night sweats as well but none concurrently.

I took a rapid test at 3 weeks but I know that is now to early.  I submitted to a 4th generation Elisa at my fourth week and am awaiting the results.

So my question is are my symptoms those that mirror those of ARS or is this more of an anxiety thing.  Just for full disclosure I suffered from anxiety as a kid but none since adulthood ( I'm 31).  My PCP also has me on Atvian for anxiety.  Thank you and I appreciate any prompt responses to my questions.

Good to know.
If indeed they have 20 plus years of intimate experience with this then their advice is  as good as gold!
In your personal case you're a slow progressor and that is rare. I would assume you.ve been asked to be evaluated by the medical establishment.
It is astonishing that you have the patience and perseverance to be here day after day and answer the same repetitive questions.

It helps to know where the advice is coming from.

The OP had a potential exposure and is genuinely upset.
He got correct advice on when to test.
I have my opinion on his chances on being infected(low) but he deserves to be told the facts and the truth.
He had, by his own admission ,  a risk event and he needs to follow up with a 12 week test.

I guess he needs to be told over and over again.

I do not frequent aids meds and most of the times I don't even bother to check  previous posts.

These folks are freaked out and need advice. But the advice needs to come from someone credible.

You've lived with this thing for decades and have been posting in here for several years. In my opinion you are more credible than any doctor and yet, they keep on coming back with additional scenarios.
It is a frightening disease and folks are naturally scared.
I had a needle stick exposure and I freaked out!
The doc at the emergency department was great in explaining the whole HIV scenario, yet I was sceptical.
I am still in contact with him on a personal level but researching this on here has greatly opened my eyes on risk factors and what can and what cannot lead to infection.

Symptoms are a shot in the dark. Unreliable to determine status.
If indeed you had unprotected  vaginal sex then the only way to know is an AB test at 12 weeks.
