risk of getting hiv from giving a blow-job

good evening,

a week ago i had sex with a guy i barely knew. we have mutual friends and eventually ended up having sex.
i gave him a blowjob (we had unprotected oral sex but had protected anal intercourse) but he did not ejaculate in my mouth.
i didn't feel any pre-cum in my mouth but i am not sure there wasn't any.
a day later i noticed a couple of incredibly small scrapes in the inside of my mouth (i have the habit of biting the inside of my lip), right behind the lips. they disappeared within a day, and i do not know whether they were there when i performed oral sex on him or not.
now i do not know much about his sexual history, i don't think he is hiv+ because i guess he would have told me, or maybe he doesn't even know it himself.
i know i am probably paranoid but i did read about a lot of people on the internet saying they caught hiv with unprotected oral intercourse.
i took my first test a couple of weeks ago and i was negative (i was told to take it in order for it to become part of the check-up routine) but now i am scared to death! i never hook-up randomly and besides the guilt of doing it i am so nervous for the risk that i exposed myself to. i know most people don't use a condom when they give/recieve head but they say it's still a low risk behaviour!
any help on this matter would be so much appreciated, thank you again and sorry if this is bothering you!

At no time were you ever at risk. Saliva contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibit HIV transmission.

i apologise for this paranoia but they offer so many different opinions on a lot of well-regarded sexual health and hiv-prevention websites i really didn't know what to think!

thank you for this extensive data and information, i really really appreciate it.
i am concerned because some people say that that is how they contracted hiv. on most websites it is still flagged as 'low risk', with the risk increasing with open cuts or tiny scrapes.
sorry if this topic has been discussed to death but i assure you i read every single question and post related to this matter.

Very interesting... You went and scared yourself Into paranoia..

Oral sex isn't a route for HIV.
Y? Well you mouth is a hostile area and HIV isn't strong enough to survive!

No matter how you put it, you weren't infected.
And don't try and diagnose your own symptoms because you Brain will make you feel sick when your not!

And if you think about it, how many ppl would be infected if HIV was passed by oral sex? To many.. Maybe 1/3 of the world! But your fine!

There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANSFIELD

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA

"The observation on thousands and thousands of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)." DR HOOK
