Hiv - kissing

Hello all. Just wanted to start by thanking you for the community. It's a great wealth of info. I have read through the previous posts regarding HIV and kissing and have seen that it is not a common way to get infected.

Please forgive me as I am an EXTREMELY anxious individual(in therapy) but I had a recent exposure that has me very worried.

Had dental work 2 days ago, including filling and a temporary crown installed. Yesterday I engaged in a brief open mouthed kiss with a questionable person. Does the recent dental work and/or the temp crown act as an open pathway into my bloodstream if the other person had blood in their mouth?, Am I more susceptible to transmission.

I understand the policy here is generally no penetetration = no risk. But was wondering if my recent dental work would be a factor.

Thank you

You have a lot of posts to still be asking questions about non risks. The risks for hiv include having unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV needles to inject drugs. You know enough to know our stance. And air and saliva inactivate the virus.

No, dental work does not impact transmission of HIV. Keep working on that therapy. Asking for reassurance means you have a ways to go.
