Thank you Joggen, although I was reffering to vaginal fluids on my foreskin and urethra, and not just hand genital contact.
The precise time frame doesn't matter as nobody in the world has ever been infected through hand genital contact. You won't be the first person in the world to be infected that way. You are making safe sex way more complicated than it actually is- all it means is protecting your penis with a condom before you penetrate someone vaginally or anally- which you did. You were not at risk for HIV.
Can someone please respond?
Something tells me that I should not have come back to the site after my risk assesment.
I read in one of the posts vance mentions that it takes couple of minutes for HIV to be ineffective. I freaked out when I read this. Becuase in my case it was less than 30 seconds before the vaginal fluid mixed with lubricant came into contact with my foreskin and urethra.
Based on this do I still need to test at 6 months.
assessment is the same..you can forget about hiv and move on
Sorry, Did not understand the the response.
no problem..you are fine :)
One last follow up question. There was a lot of lubrication ( water based) does that change anything?
In terms to the virus surviving in moist condition. I am asking this because you mentioned about the virus being exposed to air. Note that in my post I also mentioned that I put the sceond condom on while vaginal fluid was still on my penis.
Thank you. That's very reassuring.
zero...you dont have to worry as what you described is not a method of hiv transmission..the virus gets deactivated shortly after exposure to air and it loses its capability to infect an individual..
