Hello Doctor,

I had an intercourse with a sex worker (not sure about her HIV status) 5 days back. I am 34 yrs old and healthy guy not yet married and still virgin, so thought of having some fun, so got excited and had it. I did a safe sex by wearing a condom. I didn't kissed her, She did a oral sex(blow job) by having condom on me. The only thing I did is inserted into her from behind. I played very softly (not hard). I tried to put my finger in her vagina but she denied. My fingers are clean without any cuts. Actually, I carried a condom while going to her, but she already had one and she put that on my penis. Don't know How good the condom which she put  to my penis.

To my knowledge as this is my first experience, I think the condom is not broken till the end. But I am worried about HIV transmission. I don't even know her HIV status. Can you please let me know the probability of HIV transmission? I am much worried.

OK. I picked up my 25 days HIV Elisa test and other STD tests result today, its negative for all STDs (HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia). In fact, today is my 46th day after the exposure. Hmmm...I am a lilttle bit ease now, but I will go for another round of test atleast after 60 days.

I am very much worried now, after going through the threads of SPUD794. Tomorrow, I am going to get my test results which I gave on the 25 day after my exposure. And also, its almost 6 weeks done by now. Do you suggest me to go for another test because as per EWD and HHH at 6 weeks time, 95% the test results will be conclusive? what you say?

After reading the SPUD794 threads, how to rely on the condoms even after CDC or someone says its effective if used properly? Of course, I hope I used the condom properly for the encounter I faced. I didn't washed my penis immediately after removing the condom, I just cleaned my penis with toilet paper. I took a shower the next day morning.  

I am worried about the on and offset of mild symptoms (chills with mild fever around
99.0 +/- 0.3, burning sensation of eyes with red color, palms and foot sole becoming pinkish sometimes, white tongue in the morning these days) which I am facing from my exposure. I don't see any rash or swollen lymph or sore throat till now. Could this symptoms can be related any other STD?

I am worried a lot. I hope you can understand how difficult it will be in the window period to control the anxiety, if you are facing few ARS symptoms.

I am still waiting for my 25 days test results, I know 3 months is conclusive, but for some assurance and to have peace of mind, I went on 25th day for test .

Very much worried. Its killing me. Now a days my eyes are becoming red, also my palms and foot sole are becoming pinkish red some times. This symptoms I never faced before in my life.

Really, my eyes are becoming so red (as if I got some eye infection), but I don't see any general symptoms like itching, watering when eyes get infected, only I feel a little bit burning sensation. My vision is clear.

Is this any way related with ARS?

Please don't get frustrated with my questions. It might be silly, but you know, I am facing hard time in my life. I didn't expected that I will be so worried after having sex with a unknown female sex worker. Otherwise, I might haven't done it at all.

How can you have symptoms of HIV when you didn't have an exposure. See your doctor if you are concerned. HIV is not your problem you had protected sex.

Hi Teak,

I gave the samples for the STDs & HIV test today( 25 days after exposure). i know you will say 3 months is conclusive, but can't stop till that period and want some assurance so gave the blood sample for test today. I will get the results in another 2 weeks, probably in first week of Jan.

Today, I found my lips are changing color from red to black. I don't smoke. I observed this in mirror because I feel they are sticky and I saw they are becoming really black. Is this any symptom of ARS? Seriously, I feel something is going on in my body. I am very much worried Teak. Staying alone in this country and I can't share my feelings to and discuss with anyone here. I couldn't able to concentrate on my work.

Q1) Is it good and reliable in taking tests on 25th day after exposure?
Q2) Is lip color change is any way related to ARS?

Hi All,

I couldn't able to keep my mind at rest. Now its only 2 weeks done after my exposure. I know anxiety is driving me and couldn't able to beat it. I am convincing myself that as she is a sex worker (eros escort) and she is not decent, definitely she might be having HIV. And I feel, some have the virus has spread to me even though I had protected sex (only vaginal). I don't know what will happen to me, day by day I am getting panic. I couldn't able to express this to any of friends and just posting here to ease my mind.

Sorry for coming back. My mild fever is not going away. It comes and goes. I know you guys say, its nothing to do with ARS, but I am getting so panic day by day for the biggest mistake I did in my life.

After 34 yrs staying as a virgin, I thought of doing it, but now I repent for the mistake I did.

100% I am on with the condom, but my worry is what if the sex worker is HIV+(say)? and How safe is vaginal sex with a condom on? why I am getting this frequent mild fever?

Moreover, I didn't washed my penis after sex, will it be a problem?

Is it obvious to get a mild fever after sex, because this is my first intercourse or is it due to anxiety?
