is WB the only way to confirm a positive screening test?
Talk to your Dr and find out what the confirmation test was. If it was a Western Blot then you are negative.
OK but if you read the docs notes on march 20th
First confirmatory test - negative (doesnt say which test he used)
Then it said - RNA by PCR pending
So now with that I had
1st Test 3/11/2013 - screening test came up positive
2nd test 3/13/2013 confirmatory of some kind negative
3rd test 3/17/2013 RNA by pcr - negative
4th test 3/19/2013 was the vl counts both copies and log ants below detectable measurement
5th test 9/11/2013 was vl counts again both copies and log ants below detectable measurement
So I got 1 positive and 4 negatives what do I believe or what should be the next course of action?
RNA is not a confirmative test.
ok initial test came back positive this was on March 13th
doctor wrote this in notes on March 20th... probable false positive HIV test. First confirmatory test is negative. RNA by PCR pending.
Viral Load Test done March 20th
Log amts < 1.7
VL copies <79
Retest done Sept 9th
Log amts <1.7
VL Copies <79
Doc said that with the 2 results and the negative PCR to the best of his knowledge he says I dont have it
Can't answer your question without you taking the correct tests.
ok welll beyond all that u are not answering my question ur just questioning the doctor.
Dude is very highly reviewed and what not in San Diego... work@ Sharp Reese steely...
U can question his knowledge or what not but my question is with a positive initial screening and then 2 neg tests and then 2 different viral load tests (6 months apart) both being undetectable / untraceable what can I do to put my girl at ease...
Find another doctor that know what they are doing.
the initial screening test did come back positive the doctor ordered the viral load count to see if anything if the test was incorrect... I did not have a confirmed positive test but he said that by checking the viral load he would tell by the results (whether it be the presence of or lack there of) if it was a false-positive test or not
They don't give viral load tests unless you have a confirmed positive test result.
i was an IV drug user and I also went to prison for 3 years in prison i shared needles... I cleaned them as best as I could but you are not necessarily given all the means and cleaning agents to properly clean them.
I had a full panel done at my first physical and the initial test came back positive I dont know the next 2 tests the doctor requested but the final test back in March was a Viral load count. The test I took tested 2 qtys and both came back as undetectable by medical practices... <1.7 on one of the tests and <79 on the other.
I was retested on Tuesday of this week 6 months later and it also came back undetectable / untraceable... what can be said to put my girlfriends mind at ease or get her to trust the results
Why did you have a VL test done?
